FRAGILE out now from @panmacmillan

Rep: @DHAbooks

Tell us about yourself?

I'm the author of the award-winning D.I. Marnie Rome series. My latest book, Fragile, is a standalone psychological thriller inspired by my love of Rebecca. My heroine, Nell, is running from her past with a secret she longs to set down. In Starling Villas, she becomes housekeeper to the reclusive Robin Wilder who lives by an exacting set of rules. As Nell begins to find her balance in the house, Robin’s ex-wife sweeps in. Carolyn Wilder has no intention of allowing Nell to become comfortable here. But who is underestimating whom?

Are you working on something now?

My next book, also a standalone, is set on the cliff edge in Cornwall, in the aftermath of a failed building project that claimed the lives of six people. It's a story about families, secrets, and finding our way home.

Which six books will you take to to the Island?

Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier

My most-read book. I'd like to re-read it yet again and see how the island transforms it.

Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
Because it's such a complex and controversial book that rewards re-reading.

Dracula by Bram Stoker
A really great detective story

Your blue-eyed boy by Helen Dunmore
Which taught me about survival in unexpected ways.

Bad Actors by Mick Herron
Which isn't out until 2022 but which I *must* read.

Islands of Abandonment by Cal Flyn
Because it's my current read and I want to finish it.

What disc will you choose?

Bobby Darin Mack the Knife

It makes me smile, makes me dance, wakes me up

What is your luxury item?

Photo Album

Wedding Album
Which fictional character will you meet?

Tom Ripley.

We could play cat and mouse until the rescuers arrive.
